Continuing the stories of the past, history repeats itself periodically and brings to the fore the same types of events, personalities, and situations. Why? Maybe to do something different, not to repeat the mistakes of our ancestors, to heal the wounds of the past, and to evolve in another direction.

The astral moment we are passing through now, the year 2022 - 2023, the war between Russia - Ukraine and Russia against the world is a copy of the moment 1855 - 1856, the Crimean War, when Russia and the great powers (Great Britain, France, the Ottoman Empire, and Sardinia) entered the war! What happened then? What is happening now? Why did the war break out and what were its consequences?

Common transits 1855 - 1856 vs 2022 - 2023

Why did Russia go to war and what was the dissatisfaction of Tsar Nicholas of Russia?

Russia was unhappy that its role as protector of the Orthodox was not understood in the West and that it was being treated unfairly. At the same time, she accused Western powers of having the right to conquer foreign countries but forbade Russia to do the same.

Tsar Nicholas of Russia: “France takes Algeria from Turkey and almost every year England annexes another Indian principality: none of these aggressions undermine the balance of power on the continent; but when Russia occupies Moldova or Wallachia, even temporarily, it destroys the balance of power. France occupies Rome and her troops stay there for many years in peacetime: that's no problem, but Russia is only thinking of occupying Constantinople, and peace in Europe is already threatened. The English declare war on the Chinese, who seem to have offended them somehow: no one has the right to intervene; Russia, on the other hand, is forced to seek permission from Europe if it quarrels with its neighbor. England threatens Greece and destroys its fleet: this is a legal measure; but Russia is calling for a treaty to protect millions of Christians, and this is seen as strengthening its position in the East at the expense of the balance of power. From the West, we can expect nothing but blind hatred and evil, a West that does not understand and does not want to understand. "

A speech quite similar to what Putin is saying now, right?

Why did the other powers go to war?

The Russian Empire always considered itself the heir of the Byzantine Empire, which had the historical ambition to revive it. Already having an exit to the Baltic Sea and another to the Black Sea, he still wanted to advance to the Mediterranean, to the Holy Places of Palestine. If that had happened, it would have had the great naval power, which was unacceptable to France and Britain! Thus, although it was intended to provide a religious background, the war was due to economic, territorial, and political factors and the rivalry between empires. The essence of the conflict was not to conquer a particular place but to destroy the military power and economic resources of the Russian empire.

Western powers knew whom they were fighting against, not what they were fighting for. They were fighting against Russia, and their real desire was for Russia to disappear or become a modest member of the British and French-dominated world. With the fall of Sevastopol, Napoleon III proposed to the British government a program according to which Russia should be expelled from Europe and destroyed as a Great Power. This program was one of rebuilding nation-states - led by Poland - which would have turned France into the main European power. But the British had the exact opposite in mind: they wanted to destroy Russia's supremacy in Europe without replacing it with France.

Power games, border conquest, economic business. Pretty similar, right?

In short, what happened in Crimea?

1. It began as a struggle for differences in mentality - considered to be one of the last religious wars in Europe - between the Catholic West and the Orthodox East, considered barbaric and primitive.

2. Modern weapons were used for that time - it is considered the first modern war - trenches, "blind" bombings, mini-bullets, rifles with barrels, the emergence of ether anesthesia and ambulance

3. It was the first conflict to break out and during which the press played a significant role - the advent of the electric telegraph, the print media, and independent journalism - allowed public opinion to become a political force.

4. Total war - It is considered to be the first war that tragically affected the civilian population, leading to humanitarian crises: - the peninsula was depopulated due to the mass exodus of Crimean Tatars to Ottoman territories, victims of bombings were severely affected, and civilians died from famine or disease brought by soldiers to besieged cities (cholera was the disease that then affected humanity), entire communities were wiped off the face of the earth in massacres.

5. The Crimean War has heightened human bestiality - the bodies of wounded or dead Russian soldiers on the battlefield were used by French soldiers as "sandbags" to build barricades. The attacks on Kerch and Yenikale have plundered shops and houses, destroyed the city's museum, and its rich and magnificent collections of Greek art, raped Russian women, crimes, including children and infants. In Bulgaria, forces launched a war of terror against Bulgarian settlements, destroying churches, beheading priests, mutilating victims and raping local girls, in order to frighten the population, not to revolt or send volunteers to the Russian army.

6. The Crimean War became known for the introduction of war tourism - weeks and even months after the capture of Sevastopol, entire tourist ships arrived from Britain to see the sites of the famous battles and collect souvenirs - a Russian pistol or a sword, a piece of uniform robbed on the corpses of the Russians left in the trenches

7. The war claimed 50,000 lives in the Russian army, 75,000 among French and British troops, and more than 80,000 among the Turks.

8. It was considered the worst organized war, without a strategy and without tel. Throughout the war, the Allies failed to come up with a clear plan

9. Countries that remained neutral had the most to gain.

Again, quite similar!

10. The war ended with the defeat of Russia.

What were the consequences of the war?

The Crimean War was a war without a clear post-war decision, but that was where it stood - without it, Europe would not have known the so-called "liberal era", that period of calm that ended in the summer of 1914. Powers in Europe have been restored - Russia's power has not been destroyed, but its influence in Europe has temporarily diminished; France's prestige increased, but it did not become the dominant power on the continent again; The Romanian countries gained their independence, the Danube estuary being freed from Russian and Austrian control; The Black Sea has been neutralized; The Holly Alliance is over!

The article is not intended to be for or against one of the parties, but only relates similar facts in history, which took place on the same planetary aspects. Let's not wait another 167 years to lose so many lives under the pride of power, economic, military, or social pride.

Let's get well!
